Traffic Officer Learnership 2026 Opportunities

The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety is inviting applications from South African youth for the Traffic Officer Learnership 2026. A total of 154 learnership opportunities are available across the province’s five districts.

This 12-month programme is designed to train and develop learners to become qualified Traffic Officers while receiving a stipend of R67,675.56 per annum.

  • Capricorn District – 31 positions
  • Sekhukhune District – 33 positions
  • Mopani District – 32 positions
  • Vhembe District – 31 positions
  • Waterberg District – 27 positions

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the Traffic Officer Learnership 2025/2026, applicants must meet the following:

  • Minimum educational qualification: Grade 12 / Senior Certificate or equivalent.
  • Age: between 18 and 35 years.
  • Must hold a valid Code B driving licence (manual transmission).
  • No criminal record.
  • No visible tattoos that are against professional conduct.
  • A valid medical certificate confirming fitness for strenuous exercise.
  • Must not have been declared unfit to possess a firearm in terms of the Firearm Control Act, 2000 (Act 60 of 2000).
  • Willingness to work shifts on a 24/7 basis, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Must undergo driving and competency tests.
  • Proof of South African citizenship (ID document).

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Discipline and willingness to work in law enforcement environments.
