City of Mbombela Traffic Learnership Programme

The City of Mbombela, a Category 7 Municipality located in Mpumalanga Province, is calling on unemployed youth who are passionate about road safety and community service to apply for its Traffic Learnership Programme. This exciting 12-month learnership will provide successful candidates with comprehensive training in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act, Act 93 of 1996, equipping them with the essential skills and knowledge to serve as traffic officers.

This initiative is part of the municipality’s commitment to skills development, youth empowerment, and public safety. The programme offers not only professional exposure but also a stipend to support learners during the training period.

Requirements and Competencies

To be considered, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate (Matric).
  • valid driving license.
  • Must be younger than 35 years of age.
  • No criminal record or pending cases.
  • Must be physically fit and willing to undergo physical training.
  • Must be a South African citizen and a permanent resident of the City of Mbombela.
  • Applicants must provide Proof of Residence and indicate their Ward Number on the application form.

Responsibilities

During the training, candidates will undergo structured learning and practical exposure, covering all aspects of traffic law enforcement and road safety education, in line with the National Road Traffic Act.

Stipend and Benefits Of Traffic Learnership Programme

  • A stipend of R6,500 per month will be paid during the training period.
  • No other allowances or benefits will be provided.

Duration

  • The learnership runs for 12 months (1 year).
