About the Road Accident Fund (RAF)

The Road Accident Fund covers all road users within South Africa, rehabilitating and compensating victims of motor vehicle accidents. RAF also promotes road safety awareness and ensures service delivery in a caring, professional, and timely manner.

Purpose of the Job

The Administrative Assistant: Determination will support the Officer, Senior Officer, and Team Leader with administrative assistance to ensure efficient and smooth branch operations.

Key Responsibilities

Chase stakeholder queries

  • Handle incoming telephone calls
  • Check and respond to correspondence
  • Issue letters and prepare undertaking letters when required

Payment requisition processing

  • Sign expenditure authorization forms
  • Maintain a record of offers made
  • Obtain requisite approvals according to Delegation of Authority (DOA)

Document and correspondence management

  • Draw and document correspondence received
  • Request files from CAFS (Claims Administration Filing System)
  • File incoming documents, emails, and letters on a daily basis

Claims system updating

  • Recover files from CAFS
  • Update claim records with accurate, relevant information

File distribution and liaison with stakeholders

  • Exchange and retrieve files among departments
  • Pass on copies of files to stakeholders when required

Minimum Qualifications

  • NQF 4 (Grade 12 / Matric)
  • Computer literacy

Experience Required

  • Minimum 1 year relevant experience in a claims administration or handling environment

Technical and Behavioural Competencies
