Job Title: Engineering Learnership
Fields Available: Diesel Mechanic, Boilermaker Plater, Electrical, Fitting (including Machining)
Job Grading: EL
Business Unit: Human Resource Development
Location: Marula Platinum Mine

Closing Date: 04 September 2025

Purpose of the Job:
The programme is structured to train candidates towards becoming qualified artisans through a combination of theoretical learning and practical workplace training.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 / STD 10 / NQF Level 4 equivalent (essential)
  • A minimum of N2 with four (4) subjects relevant to the trade, or NCV Level 4 with relevant subjects
  • Must undergo a knowledge assessment, psychometric assessment, and interview
  • Must obtain a medical fitness certificate (Red Ticket) and Heat Tolerance Screening (HTS)

Key Performance Areas

As part of the programme, the successful candidate will:

  • Be trained towards becoming an artisan in a structured learnership programme.
  • Assist artisans in technical functions, including equipment maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
  • Apply engineering principles to solve problems and improve productivity.
  • Successfully complete all training phases (on-the-job and off-the-job) required for artisan qualification.
  • Gain familiarity with Marula Mine rules, regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Work alongside experienced coaches, artisans, and foremen in a supervised environment.
  • Conduct basic fault diagnosis, reporting, and problem-solving.
  • Maintain equipment efficiency to help prevent production losses.
  • Gain supervisory skills and hands-on experience in engineering operations.
