The JumpStart Retail Frontline Programme 2025(RFP) is a skills development initiative designed to prepare unemployed South African youth for entry-level jobs in retail. This two-week programme is ideal for matriculated youth looking to gain real workplace skills, life skills training, and retail experience. While the programme does not guarantee employment, successful participants become more employable and stand a higher chance of securing jobs in major retailers across South Africa.

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Retail Frontline Programme, you must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Have Matric/Grade 12
- Be 18 – 33 years old
- Be unemployed
- Have no criminal record
- Have access to at least 200MB data and a smartphone or computer
What the Programme Offers
The programme focuses on work readiness skills and hands-on retail exposure, including:
- Online life skills modules (customer service, communication, problem-solving)
- Three days of classroom-based training
- One day of a suitability interview
- One week of practical retail work experience
Training and Work Experience Structure
The programme consists of four key phases:
- Online training: completion of an online life skills course and assessment
- In-person training: three days of classroom-based learning
- Interview day: a one-day suitability interview with retail recruiters
- Work exposure: one week of retail environment placement
