Job Purpose:

The Department of Labour wishes to appoint a service-oriented and suitable candidate as a Client Services Officer within the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) section at the Labour Centre in Gqeberha. The successful candidate will be expected to register claims, authenticate documents, serve employers at service points, and handle client complaints and queries on COIDA. This is a great opportunity for individuals who have a Grade 12 qualification, good interpersonal skills, and quality delivery in public services.

Requirements:

A Senior Certificate / Matric / Grade 12.

Knowledge of:

  • Public Service Act
  • Public Service Regulations
  • Compensation Fund business strategies and objectives
  • Compensation Fund value chain
  • Directorate: objectives and performance targets
  • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations
  • Customer service values (Batho Pele Values)

Skills:

  • Computer literacy
  • Business writing
  • Listening skills
  • Telephone etiquette
  • Basic interpersonal skills

Duties:

  • Accept and verify documents for registering
  • Register claims on the Operational System
  • Assist employer services at the kiosk, online system, and service centre
  • Reply to all service-related enquiries and complaints
