Overview
City Of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality Want a committed General Worker to Start Working in Community Services Department. The incumbent will make a contribution to turf grass, stadia, and hard courts maintenance, as well as ensuring public facilities are clean, their operational status, and safety for usage by communities.
The position is in support of the municipality’s daily upkeep of recreation and sport facilities and a healthy and safe environment for residents.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Grade 10 or ABET Level 1 and above
- Skills: Literacy and writing skills
Core Responsibilities
- Comply with all safety protocols as required by law
- Perform general handy work and routine maintenance jobs
- Perform all jobs to the highest quality standards
- Service equipment (tighten, clean, or replace parts) according to laid-down procedures
- Plan and schedule daily work activities efficiently
- Clean other municipal facilities: offices, reception, restrooms, kitchens, storerooms, filing rooms, and backyards
- Use cleaning materials in the correct manner and apply for reissue where needed
- Provide refreshments for office meetings
- Prepare and arrange meeting and event venues
- Follow Batho Pele principles (people-centred public service)
- Do not wastage and report any potential risk
- Maintain professional and ethical conduct with all stakeholders
