Do you have a Matric qualification and a strong desire to start a career in retail? Join the Dis-Chem Pharmacies Cosmetics Retail Learnership, launching in branches across South Africa. This exciting program is designed to equip you with skills and knowledge to promote and sell Dis-Chem’s cosmetics and beauty products — while delivering excellent customer service.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

Matric / Grade 12
Willing and able to work retail hours
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Advantageous:

Previous experience in a beauty environment

Key Responsibilities:

Stock Control:

Ensure shelf stock is within expiry dates
Maintain product availability on shelves
Participate in stock takes when requested
Keep storeroom neat and organised
Report low, damaged, or expired stock
Facilitate regular stock rotation
Ensure boxes are flattened and taken to designated areas
Restock merchandise as needed

Merchandising:

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and displays
Present displays attractively
Demonstrate products via makeovers, demos, spray promotions
Label and price items correctly
Achieve sales targets for various vendors/brands
Adhere to stock layout principles
Assist with loading/off-loading stock
Report price discrepancies

Customer Service:

Provide friendly, helpful, and professional assistance
Process payments at Cosmetics POS
Advise customers without pressuring them
Handle and resolve stock queries

Knowledge of promotions and personal selling
Fluent in English (read, write, speak)
Communication, writing, and listening skills
Interpersonal and self-management skills
Basic financial understanding
Customer needs awareness
Trustworthy and honest
Computer skills

Conditions of Employment:

Must be a South African citizen
Clear criminal and credit record (MIE checks)
Willing to work retail and flexi-hours

Remuneration and Benefits:

Stipend provided during the learnership
